988 Suicide & Crisis Prevention Lifeline

988 is the three-digit dialing code that routes callers to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (or 988 Lifeline). When people call, text, or chat with the 988 Lifeline, they are connected to trained counselors, made up of over 200 local crisis centers. Counselors are trained to provide free and confidential emotional support and crisis counseling to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress, and connect them to resources. Services are available 24/7 across the US.

American Foundation For Suicide Prevention (AFSP):

AFSP's mission is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. They fund research to improve interventions, train clinicians in suicide prevention, and advocate for policy that will save lives and reach those who are suffering. 

National Alliance On Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI is s a prominent grassroots organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by mental health conditions. NAMI provides education, advocacy, and resources to promote awareness and understanding of mental illness. They work to reduce stigma, improve access to mental health care, and offer peer-to-peer based support programs for individuals living with mental health challenges and their loved ones.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is a U.S. government agency that focuses on providing leadership, resources, and support for individuals and communities affected by substance abuse and mental health issues. Their mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on individuals and society by fostering prevention, treatment, and recovery-oriented policies and practices.

RAINN is the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the US, providing vital support and resources for survivors of sexual assault, including the National Sexual Assault Hotline, which offers confidential support and assistance 24/7, as well as educational programs and advocacy efforts aimed at preventing sexual violence and supporting survivors on their path to healing.
